Danny Easton is a self-taught abstract, mixed media and abstract realism artist based in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Working primarily with acrylics,, his art explores colour, texture, and emotional impressions shaped by a lifetime of experiences. Although Easton always felt drawn to creativity, it was after retiring four years ago that he entered a new chapter of artistic exploration, beginning his painting practice three years ago. As a child, he enjoyed early art lessons and later studied art briefly in junior high before shifting his focus to athletics. A dedicated and competitive athlete through his twenties, he developed discipline, perseverance, and a drive for continual improvement-qualities that now inform his artistic practice. Easton's work is recognized for his vibrant colour palettes, textured surfaces, and expressive shapes. Guided by intuition and experimentation and emotion to lead the creative process, often balancing bold, energetic colour with quieter neutral elements. His paintings invite connection and reflection, encouraging viewers to experience their own emotional response. Creativity has long been central to Easton's life. Over the decades he has expressed his artistic sensibility through interior and garden design, contributing to multiple home and landscape renovations. His passion for design led him to formal garden design studies, and his work has been praised for his originality and impact. Easton has participated in three art exhibitions, receiving recognition in each. Today, he continues to create from his home studio, embracing the journey from first inspiration to the moment a piece feels complete. Through his work, he hopes collectors and viewers alike will feel a sense of connection, warmth, and lasting value.
